Thanks for questioning, the term Disruption (Dmitry: wish I could find that thread because now I cannot remember who questioned it but I am grateful that it was raised!) Peter I am going with the following: Awareness, Discovery, Direction, Integration, Transformation. As I am writing the book, the word "Direction" suddenly popped up in my mind. I think this is critical to The PhD Project design and is what I am experiencing here - through many conversations leading to many small discoveries, you end up finding a direction. For me, settling on ADDIT Insight as the name of the blog was the biggest one (thanks Peter - your comments on insight versus data was the starting point). And Direction will be in the center as it should. I think important thing in picking language is that it conveys the message and I think this will do it. Finally, disruption really cuts across ADDIT stages and can be experienced at any point. Direction also opens up the "Four Directions" idea that resonated with me - people coming from different directions helping others find their direction. Thanks to all - again your comments have been most helpful!

Dasaratha Rama I think Disrupting is good for your project as it is a global term that cuts across all five but I need direction in there because with the current wording a critical concept in PhD Project design is not captured. Discovery is not enough because I can...See More

Dasaratha Rama Finally, Peter in a model each construct should be clearly distinguished and I am finding the boundaries between Disruption and Discovery to be blurry - they seem to be two sides of the same coin - Direction is clean - many discoveries and then you commit to something and then you integrate as follow that path...

Dasaratha Rama Bradford Hansen-Smith: Your comment in another thread - Direction only comes from unity of what works and what does not; (from Brad's reply to Peter's in another thread) relevant to this discussion so posting here.

Dasaratha Rama Christopher Would be curious about your thoughts on this thread as self-direction is something you keep coming to and my point is for something so important should we not have something in place to help people find their direction instead of it being a...See More

Christopher Chase Self-direction comes from discovery of what works, what doesn't, while implementing in specific contexts… a good book you would probably appreciate Dasaratha is "Development in Context: Acting and Thinking in Specific Contexts"… By researchers aligned with Vygotsky and Bronfenbrenner's models… https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Social_ecological_modelSocial ecological model - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Dasaratha Rama Thanks, Christopher - I am staying with Direction as middle D, I think it will work in a lot of ways - thanks for responding.
